KINDERGARTEN
Our Kindergarten Program is provided on a full and part time basis.
The kindergarten hosts a total of 24 children between the ages of 4
– 5 years.
Kindergarten is a wonderful learning opportunity which encourages
children to learn and excel in both academic and social experiences.
Through the use of co-operative activities children discover how to
work together, and problem solve.
The Kindergarten Room is full of Learning Centers that facilitate
growth in areas such as Creative Arts, Cognition, Language Arts,
Science, Math readiness, Computer Skills, Sensory, and Dramatic
Arts.
• Our Learning Circles introduce children to:
• letters, sounds which facilitate early reading skills
• Children are introduced to the “words of the week” and “sounds” of
the week.
• This enables children to learn about letter formation
• Spelling simple words, blending simple words together
• identifying word sounds.
Each child is provided with a “working folder” which enables the
child to explore the world of writing and imagination.
• Our Math Readiness Program facilitates children to:
• Recognize, label and write numbers 0 -100
• Count by 10’s
• Count and Compare objects with more, fewer or ‘the same’ number
• Recognize and use patterns
• Add and Take away 2 digit numbers
